This bath was inspired by the far eastern influence of the home’s architectural style. Natural textures were integrated throughout the design. Natural bamboo cabinetry and stone countertop surround a surface mounted sink. A live wood edge slab creates a top surface for a knee-space vanity. Textured wood tile adorns the shower walls which are enclosed by double sliding glass doors. A nook within the shower allows a handcrafted ofuro tub to be nestled. The ceiling is wood plank with skylights to introduce natural light during the day, or star gazing at night, while the floors are natural stone pebble. The “wall” enclosing the bathroom is authentic rice paper shoji screens with a sliding door.
